Mercian Hockey Sticks

Mercian sticks are produced without compromise for elite competitors. We have variants in shaft style, weight and length to give every player at every level the choice they demand.

Now selecting the optimum Mercian stick is even easier as you simply decide if you want the power and aggression of composite technology or the feel and precision of wood. Players can select a level of stiffness and power that suits them. The different models form a deadly attack.

Mercian Technology

Mercian produce sticks and equipment for every standard of hockey player from international athletes to juniors just starting out in the game. The following guide shows you how to select the ideal Mercian stick. There are several types of stick: Composite, Wood, Znake and Indoor.

Composite sticks are made from advanced materials formed within a mold. These materials include Kevlar, Graphite, Fibreglass and now Basalt. The composites are split into two ranges, the ultra advanced M-Tek Range and the powerful Black Widow Range.

Wooden sticks are made by bending, shaping and forming carefully selected mulberry and other woods into the desired shape. The shaped stick can then be reinforced as appropriate. Wooden sticks offer great feel on the ball for all levels of player.

Our Znake range has been developed to offer great feel and control on the ball.

Indoor sticks can be wooden or composite and are light to assist the high speed hand movements of the indoor game.

Sticks are available in different lengths, weights and bends. Selection of the perfect stick is down to personal preference, budget and ability.

CB1 CB1: 19mm bend with a thicker shaft and head prolife than the CB2

CB2 CB2: 25mm bend with even weighting along the whole shaft, a new 5mm extended toe helps with skills on the reverse side and the shape generally enhances flicking ability

CB3 CB3: 25mm shaft bend nearer the head of the stick. Designed specifically to aid corner flicking the 2010 model features an improved profile at the bottom of the grip and a thinner head to improve balance and skill execution
